! Canadian punk-pop singer Avril Lavigne is best known for her smash hit single “Sk8r Boi,” and while receiving her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning in L.A., she couldn’t help but pay tribute to her grungy skater roots. The star successfully recreated an outfit from her teenage years—attitude and all.
For the induction ceremony, Lavigne wore a red plaid suit with a blue hoodie that read “Skateboarding Is Not a Crime.” The exact hoodie is one that Lavigne wore as a teenager, notably to visit the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a tourist. At the ceremony, she posed beside the original image of herself wearing it, where she’s seen lying down next to a star. To complete the moment, Lavigne once again sprawled out on the ground—only this time, by her very own star.
