The auction house’ssale, which will take place online on September 21, comprises more than 100 lots of rare memorabilia connected to some of the world’s most famous individuals.
The acoustic ax in question was given to a young Riley B. King by his mother’s first cousin in 1931. It was actually the first guitar he ever played. King would go on to become one of the most influential musicians in rock ‘n’ roll history. Indeed, many consider the King of the Blues, who died in 2015, the single most important electric guitarist of the late 20th century.
