Three law enforcement officers in Arkansas were taken off duty after a video, shared widely on social media, showed them apparently beating a man during an arrest.

The city of Mulberry, about 130 miles northwest of Little Rock, said its police department had put one of its officers, who they confirmed was in the video, on administrative leave.

“The City of Mulberry and the Mulberry Police Department takes these investigations very seriously and holds all their officers accountable for their actions,” the city said in a statement. “We will take the appropriate actions at the conclusion of the investigation.”The Arkansas State Police said in a statement Sunday night that it had “opened an investigation into the use of force by two Crawford County sheriff’s deputies and a Mulberry police officer in the arrest of a South Carolina man.

Another officer who was holding down Worcester’s legs repeatedly struck him with his knee. The officer holding Worcester’s head grabbed him by his hair and bashed his head onto the ground.A bystander called out to the officers, admonishing them for beating Worcester. One of the officers — who had moved to strike his knee into Worcester — replied, “Back … up.”

Apparently? WTF

“Apparently” beating a man? Have YOU watched the video? FFS! They are CLEARLY beating up on that man.

ivery5000 'Apparently?' Did you not watch the video? There is no question about what these animals have done.

When U live 'the life' this is what cops have done for decades to ALL RACES.

bybryanpietsch you should talk to the person who tweeted this

Apparently? They were definitely beating the man!!

Apparently 😆

apparently? SMDH.

“Taken off duty”!!!! Why not three people arrested for violent assault? Don’t coddle violent police officers. If it hadn’t been recorded, nothing would have been done. Just another day in America.

'Apparently'? Get real.

There’s no “apparently” about it. They WERE.

If the Washington Post can't forthrightly acknowledge that a video conclusively shows a beating was taking place but instead uses a weasel word like 'apparently' then it's not clear to me why I should continue subscribing.

There is no ‘apparently beating’, the video shows all 3 again and again punching and beating a man, picking his head up my his hair to slam his head to the ground. Your team needs to learn to write correctly. *maybe* it’s an apparently unprovoked beating, but it is a beating

Show them 'apparently' beating a man Watch the goddamn video. There is no 'apparently'.

Apparently? Did you not bother to watch the video?

'...apparently beating a man...' Did you view the same video as the rest of us The word is not 'apparently' it is 'obviously'. Do better WashingtonPost this is sad.

“Apparently.” No apparent about it. That’s exactly what the video showed.

Couldn't you see the terror on their faces? They were obviously scared for their lives...That guy was totally a wizard ninja sarcasm

Apparently? They were IN FACT beating this man and clearly agitated by being filmed.

Apparently 🧐

Saw the video. If these 3 aren’t arrested this week, there is no justice.

Good move, sure appears to be excellent example of police abuse. Excessive use of force. Those police officers have lot of explaining to do.

It was a Female. A 100 pound, 44 year old, mentally handicapped woman. And they beat the crap out of her. Definitely!! Not apparently 🤦‍♀️

Apparently - they weren’t tickling him. Ffs

“apparently”?

Apparently? I think you meant “Obviously”

What did the guy do? Was he a Jan 6 'rioter'? Was he Qanon? Did he vote for the orange guy? Why were they beating him?

Apparently!?!?

They knew they were screwed when they seen someone was videoing them. We have to make examples out of the bad ones. This will never end if we don’t. If you’re a LEO and you condone this…you’re part of the problem.

Is this democracy !!!!!
