A spectacular light show is set to return to Highfields Park on Saturday, August 6 for the first time in three years. The Nottingham-based company, Architects of Air, is celebrating its 30th anniversary with a brand new Luminarium design.
The new design, Dodecalis, will draw visitors through its labyrinthine shape and three domes where they can enjoy the neon colour display. Dodecalis is named after the dodecahedron, a 12-sided platonic solid based on pentagons. The design features three domes and its asymmetric design aims to disorientate the visitor to make exploration more exciting. The design enables flowing 'neon-like contour lines of vibrant intensity.
The event celebrated its 20th touring anniversary in 2012 with Exxopolis which was created in partnership with Lakeside Arts. The design featured stained glass windows in the main dome which reflected the light.
