A new interactive map shows the most famous people from any location in the world, including Glasgow.
The map's website states: "Using data from Morgane Laouenan et al., the map is showing birthplaces of the most "notable people" around the world. Data has been processed to show only one person for each unique geographic location with the highest notability rank."To use the map, users simply need to move it to where they would like and it shows the most "notable" person from that specific area.
Looking more specifically at Glasgow, the most well-known people from the city include Dire Straits singer Mark Knopfler, Trainspotting actor Robert Carlyle, and football manager Sir Alex Ferguson. Moving to the surrounding areas, other famous Scots from the region include Gerard Butler, Robbie Coltrane, William Wallace, and Gordon Brown.
