How one bowel cancer report transformed national awarenessWe have a world map at home and one of my favourite things to do is to show my two daughters where I’ve been as a 60 Minutes reporter.\nThere’s Russia, Kenya, Angola, Namibia, Ethiopia – all over Europe, all over the United states, all over Asia.\nAnd I think it’s only on reflection that I’m able to have these ‘pinch myself moments’ where I can really see what an extraordinary opportunity and job it was to be a reporter for 60 Minutes. We won an award for doing more for bowel cancer awareness in 12 minutes of television than anyone had been able to achieve in more than 25 years.\nI covered the late professor Chris O’Brien’s story from diagnosis of brain tumour, to his state funeral and everything in between. And that was an amazing experience with a sad ending. A very important story about someone who became a very dear friend.\nWhile
