There was great 'buzz and excitement' around the town yesterday

A town in Northern Ireland has been transformed into a set as filming for Pierce Brosnan's new movie takes place.

Filming began in Antrim Castle Gardens, before moving into the town, where World War Two era jeeps were spotted alongside French flags, bunting, and a number of buildings being turned into French bars and shops.SDLP Councillor for Glengormley Urban, Noreen McClelland, stopped by on Friday. Although she didn't get to meet the former James Bond, she said there was a wonderful atmosphere in the town centre.

"It was a lovely morning, the sun shone and people arrived to see the area around the Old Court House transformed for the French Village scene. The Last Rifleman is a film inspired by true events, with Pierce Brosnan playing the leading role of a World War II veteran living in a care home in Northern Ireland who has just lost his wife.
