Splendour in the Grass has SHUT the entrance to its main campgrounds, diverting campers from the site. Patron will no longer be accepted at North Byron Parklands, due to staff shortages and terrible weather conditions. 9News DETAILS:

The festival posted on social media that the heavy rain and flooding around Byron Bay meant campers and vehicles could no longer be accepted at North Byron Parklands.

People still travelling to the festival are asked to head to Byron Events Farm at 35 Yarun Road, Tyagarah.The Splendour In The Grass festival has been hit by an east coast low off the NSW and Queensland coast, turning campsites to mud. Festivalgoers have turned to ponchos and gumboots to wade through the heavy water on the campgrounds.

"This does not include Accessible, Flashcamp and Tent City patrons who will still be accepted at NBP," Splendour said in their message."We thank you for your patience here and big shout out to our staff who are working around Mother Nature to get you in here safely," the festival organisers said.Previously the festival announced it would extend its Parklands entry hours to deal with the massive queue.
