Obituary: Artist Matt King, co-founder of Meow Wolf, helped design dreamlike exhibits that have drawn 1.5 million visitors so far this year in Santa Fe, Denver and Las Vegas. He died July 9 at the age of 37.

Matt King, described by one friend as a “space pirate rock star,” painted pictures, sculpted and taught himself to play musical instruments while supporting himself with odd jobs. In Santa Fe, N.M., he found his spiritual home with a band of anarchic young artists.

In 2008, they formed what became Meow Wolf Inc., a developer of immersive entertainment experiences where visitors explore dreamlike jumbles of art. They attracted support from the novelist George R.R. Martin, who bought a former bowling alley in Santa Fe and rented it to them, as well as from other investors.

This is a strange article, mainly because nobody knew who this person was and it’s being covered in the WSJ.

Vaxx.

Dang, very sad. Thought the Santa Fe Meow Wolf bowling alley was one of the coolest things I’ve seen. Hope he found his peace, he’s certainly impacted and inspired many.

Oh…what did he die of? Sudden ‘normal’ death ?

Oh man

💔

so thats it? a perfectly healthy 37 just dies and thats all they say about it? he died? just another 'sudden passing'
