She previously told RSVP Live: 'Over the pandemic, my farm has developed into an animal sanctuary almost, it’s not an official one.'

The actress played the role of Biddy Byrne in the iconic RTE series Glenroe between 1983 and 2000.

She previously told RSVP Live: "Over the pandemic, my farm has developed into an animal sanctuary almost, it’s not an official one."Also over the pandemic, I got to know with this girl who works with the ISPCA and she has a horse and two donkeys of her own who came to live with me so we kind of co-parent the animals! I have my own horse and two donkeys so we kind of do it together, we have a blended family.

The Westmeath native still loves to act, however she made the decision to quit stage acting because of her life on the farm. She counts Isobel Mahon, who played Michelle, Eunice McMenamin, who played Fidelma, Liam Heffernan, who played Blackie, and Geraldine Plunkett, who played her mum as her good friends."I obviously wouldn’t be in it because my character is dead but I definitely think there is something in seeing what happened to Michelle, Fidelma, Blackie and Mary and Dick. They’re still alive and going strong," she said.
