Overburdened health care, chaotic airports, non-functioning passport offices, rampant inflation and burgeoning public debts are all symptoms of our excessive trust in the public sector.

Because the federal government uses it coercive regulatory power to protect Rogers from the cut-and-thrust of the marketplace. Want to know how the Liberals plan to ensure the CRTC can regulate content on the Internet under the Trudeau government’s new censorship bill? Because the same four or five companies run much of this country’s cell service, Internet, radio and cable television, the Liberals will undoubtedly let the CRTC threaten to pull the lucrative licenses for other services from companies that don’t immediately shutdown sites or take down posts that upset bureaucrats and ministers.

But the messes with pilot certification and passport approval come from the same problem – most federal civil servants still have not returned to the office. As of July 1, over 70% of passport screeners were still working from home, which means that in truth they’re barely working.
