Image: Niall Carson Image: Niall Carson A COMPLAINT ABOUT the playing of Christmas hymn O Holy Night on RTÉ Radio One has been rejected by Ireland’s broadcasting watchdog.
“The complainant is of the view that the hymn’s lyrics which refer to a ‘dear saviour’ having brought a ‘new and glorious morn’ to some people stigmatises non-Christians.” “The broadcaster notes that it is mindful of its responsibility to serve the interests and concerns of a diverse audience and that Christianity is a predominant part of Irish culture.
We are a Christian country and this will remain. All the other moaners can decamp to London
That must have been the wokest complaint against RTE yet.
We are a Christian country our Catholic roots go back centuries our priests and religious spread the Word of God all over the world. These great men were raised to sainthood because of their dedication both here and abroad. We have a World Apparition Church. We will sing🙏
What about the muslins in croke park I found that very offensive
Maybe they should learn how to use their remote control and change channel and not be so offended
Good
'Well Hold God!'
The complainant must lead a very dull life if that's all they had to complain about.
Whoever made the complaint should I be thrown out with it.
Good
Heard it all now 😵
In related news, all Christmas songs/carols referring to Christ are to be replaced with Lizzo tracks.
RTE and this government seriously have to wake up and realize that religion is an individual choice and stop pushing down the throats of people who dont want it. The 50's are gone lads, wtf up.
Wow the BAI has a seriously high tolerance for fundamentalism.
If we tolerate this... then the Angeles with be next!
