Abdul-Rahman went to four different art schools before finally returning to Curtin University to graduate in 2012. With his sculpture Dead Horse , he wanted to force viewers to confront the inherent violence of ownership.Paired with Legacy Assets and Dead Horse in the gallery is Tracey Moffatt's 2009 video work Other, which meditates on the exploitation of people of colour in popular American cinema.
