The actor, who voiced Buzz Lightyear in four features, says the new film has 'a whole new team that really have nothing to do with the first movies.'

As I see, it’s not a big adventure story. It’s a wonderful story. It just doesn’t seem to have any connection to the toy.

Does Tim not understand the storyline of the film? Lightyear is literally the story of buzz as a human…hello Jeez I don’t understand the hate this film is getting🙄 Lightyear

Toy Story 3 ended the franchise perfectly. The 4th wasn't needed but it was cute thanks to Forky being a mood. With that, Lightyear seems like an attempt to try and squeeze out the last bit of toothpaste from the franchise. You gotta know when to just buy a new tube.

Off the record he called the director and said…😏

I saw it. And the entire time I was thinking how much better it would’ve been with Tim Allen voicing Buzz. Seriously. The woke part wasn’t huge but if you’ve seen it, just imagine Tim as the voice & it would’ve been 1000% better & connected better to the franchise

Guessing there won’t be a solo Woody film that takes place outside of the toy universe - since the Buzz Lightyear film wasn’t as successful as they wanted

Do the majority of people not understand the premise/concept of this film?!

Agreed. Lightyear was just a disaster

Tim Allen Said The New “Lightyear” Movie Has “Nothing To Do” With His Original Character'It just seems kind of...I don't know.' Building a reputation takes years of effort, and destroying it only takes a few seconds. The new ideology will never be accepted, and it is reality. It has everything AND nothing to do with the toy. It's part of the franchise, it's about the actual person the toy was made about, not about the toy. So, Tim Allen can be a toy, Chris Evans can be the actual person. No need for it to be the same, they're two different entities. Tim Allen is talking for the first time about Disney Pixar's latest film, Lightyear, starring Chris Evans as Buzz Lightyear.
