That said some films including Death on the Nile, The King’s Man, West Side Story, Dark Phoenix suffered badly for being delayed as COVID was also used as an excuse to delay many films along with selling others to streamers and releasing others on studios SVoDs
Two years ago studios were castigated by exhibitors delaying films while Nolan was praised demanding Tenet still opened, the results were predictable with the likes of Top Gun 2 and JW3 and taking more than twice as much as Tenet proving studios were right to delay
