Johann Rupert's Reinet is like a self-indulgent double album - some great hits and a lot of pointless fillers, writes MarcHasenfuss.

Vinyl junkies, I’m sure, will agree that most double albums give way to indulgence, pointless fillers or irritating noodlings — which then raises the question of why the artist did not simply compact the better material into a single record.

There are, of course, exceptions: Exile on Main St by The Rolling Stones, London Calling by The Clash, Trout Mask Replica by Captain Beefheart, Bitches Brew by Miles Davis, Warehouse: Songs and Stories by Hüsker Dü, Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan and Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin...
