Performances by Henry Cavill, Olivia Colman and Orlando Bloom in Midsomer Murders were remembered by their fellow actors in a look at the show's 25-year history

Although the three of them weren't able to make it back for the special, their fellow actors reflected on their times on the show.

Jane Wymark, who played Joyce Barnaby for 14 years, said about Colman:"She wasn't a huge star then; she just has a kind of truthfulness as an actor". "She has that extraordinary ability of being 100 per cent in the part," John Nettles added,"I'm not at all surprised she went on to become a great name in English acting."

Wymark also reminisced on how Bloom landed his part."I used to do mentoring at the Guild Hall School and one of my mentees was Orlando Bloom and, the minute I met him, I knew he was going to be a movie star." She put him forward for the role and the rest, as they say, was history.
