Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala gunned down ahead of his Canadian summer tour

Concertgoers in several other Canadian cities were able to buy tickets to Moose Wala’s “Back 2 Business” tour in recent days, but the PNE decided to delay sales.

Laura Ballance, a spokeswoman for the PNE, said the holdup was partly due to the scale of the concert, which could have seen up to 12,000 people pack into the indoor venue in Hastings Park. “We wanted to do a deeper dive into security to ascertain the full scale of public safety risks in consultation with police,” said Ballance. “As part of our security assessment for any large event, police look at our security plans — they may then tell us they want two or six officers on-site working with our in-house security team for the event. The PNE includes that cost in its contract with the show’s promoter.

Moose Wala shows have had a history of security issues, including when Surrey RCMP asked the 5X Block Party Festival to remove him from the 2019 festival’s lineup. While I understand the sentiment the is trying to evoke w/ the image for the story, couldn't you have selected any other image of him without a gun? Let's be sensitive to the recent gun violence & not further glorying guns. The title of the story speaks for it self.

Why would he need a security detail? In that pictured he’s holding what I can only assume is a legally-purchased, fully registered handgun.
