“I have made the decision now to focus on my radio show and I am very much looking forward, in time, to working on other television projects for RTÉ,” said Byrne.“I want to thank everyone who made Claire Byrne Live such an enjoyable show to be part of and in particular, the audience at home, who allowed me to spend Monday nights in their company over the last seven and a half years.”

“When we started Claire Byrne Live in 2015, we wanted it to be a forum for people in Ireland to shape the news, respond to unfolding events and most importantly, to have their say. We came through two general elections, two hugely significant referendums and one global pandemic in the time that we have been on air,” said Byrne.

Jon Williams, Managing Director of RTÉ News & Current Affairs, thanked Byrne for her work on the programme.

Best wishes to Claire Byrne for the future --- one of the better presenters on our media

I wouldn't have seen it all the time BUT when I did it was pretty good, herself ans Prime Time would be all I'd look at on RTE once in a blue moon 😁

Why now Why not 6 years 11 months ago

Thank god Claire was never a independent journalist she was great at doing what she was told. Would love to see a young unknown reporter who can be real and independent around the current issues….then again RTE culture is a let down.

Good riddance

The only surprise here is that it lasted 7 years.

No great loss.

Good riddance absolutely dreadful woman and a terrible bias on her show. She's really shown no class or smarts to warrant getting such a big slot on rte.

Tragic news for the Irish sophisticated prop making industry

Good riddance.

Good riddance

Good riddance to bad rubbish. Claire's mentor and namesake, Gay, lasted 37 years doing his show. Claire lasted 7. Seems about the right proportion for measuring their respective talents too.

Good .. fair to biased of a show .. pushing government message

Maybe Rats from the flats can give her a good seeing to in Paths to Freedom 2

Why don’t they keep Claire and get rid of Tubridy!

Sad loss for government propaganda

She lost all credibility during covid... Another run of the mill champagne socialist on rte..

We will miss you

Moment of silence for crehan_brian.

Fake journalist, fake blonde, fake pathos, fake viewing figures, fake stories. Everything about it was fraudulent. Good riddance.

7 years of absolute misery and muck. The picture shown here absolutely sums up the shite that was delivered by her.

Because nobody is watching.... cblive

Redeployment or P45 for Claire?

Thank God for that

Long overdue, absolute trash

Thank fuck

Great news . Hopefully we'll never see Claire Byrne on TV ever again !!!

About time.

I'll not shed any tears....

Rte , who cares,

No more props then 👏

The picture sums it up…. All the best Covid Claire 👋

Thank christ. Pure doom and gloom constantly

At least ye chose a picture that captures the essence of what her show was.

Clare is as bland as magnolia paint. Pleasant but so relentlessly dull, interminabley tugging her forelock at the status quo. Presumably heading to Virgin media

FFG should give her a medal for defending and supporting them regardless of truth or facts!

Pulled because of low viewership figures, simple as. Guess this means that all the polls they ran over the past few years had a few hundred votes but were supposed to be representative of the nation. Good luck focusing on the script for your radio show Scare Byrne

GREAT NEWS !!!!

Thank fuck

2 years too late

I'm shocked that RTE actually pulled the trigger. I thought they'd keep the thing going till judgement day to keep sucking up to the government. I thought with their kind of ideology all over that show they'd cut themselves rather than it. Did someone in rte snort something?

she was great before the covid crazy took over her show and turned her into some cultist for lockdowns and restrictions

They weren’t fast enough.

How did it manage to run that length of time I’ve no idea

Good riddance.

Bring back Questions & Answers with Cormac O'Hara and occasional visits from John Bowman. rte

Squeaky bum time for ol' tubbers....RTELateLateShow ClaireByrneLive _RyanTubridy rte

Good riddance to that show. It was designed to do one thing and one thing only, and that is to manipulate public opinion with it's misleading opinions and outright lies. Let's hope Clare Byrne doesn't let the door hit her fat arse on the way out. Off to the garden shed with you

Usually missed this show but felt it didn't really fit into a particular category. Love Claire's radio show. Radio surpasses TV on most fronts.

Ah well that fec,s my invite to b in the audience next season.they will however never get rid of the awful late late show which should av been buried when the late gaybo retired.its outgrown its usefulness with same ole guests week after week and well pass its sell by date

Good riddance.

Hard to see journalism picking itself up from this body blow.

Cringey show. Those mad set pieces and props. 🤣 Ireland is missing an objective current affairs prog. Something centrist would be fine. Would be great if less heard from voices were present and platformed.

I’ll shed no tears. Another overpaid Govt cheerleader

This is such a sad day for the people of Ireland. Thank you so much ClaireByrneLive TodaywithClaire and rte for producing such a fantastic show to inform the people of Ireland. Claire Byrne live was everybody in Ireland favourite show on a Monday night and will be missed.

this program was very pro government especially FF. Very biased on the reporting and air time was levered towards the FF party. Opposition never had much of a look in. Again, you could say the same about government, not good value for money. Late late show should also be reviewed

Such sad news….said nobody ever

Wouldn’t miss her, very condescending at times.

Thanks be to God, the woman is a hypocrite 🙏

She won't be missed.

It’s a pity as it was a great show, and she used to regularly upset the anti everything mob as well.
