Ryan Tubridy has lifted the lid on his summer plans as he takes a break from TV and radio for the next few weeks.
"I'm looking forward to taking a breather. I think it's really good to get away from people in terms of listeners and viewers, just to give them a break from you because it's healthy," he revealed. "I'm going to go to Iceland for sure and maybe one or two other places. Look it's post-pandemic, I'm ready to rock and roll."
"It was one of the greatest thrills of my whole life because you heard the music you saw the crowd, you felt the legacy and it was like 5 million Christmas mornings, all in one go.His particular highlights from the current series were the Irish Red Cross special which raised millions of euro for Ukraine, and the launch of the nationwide Climb with Charlie event.He added: "The Climb with Charlie Bird was it just took it out of just being a TV show.
Being on air for six decades is no easy feat in the rapidly-changing world of television, but Ryan reckons the Late Late has another 60 years in it - and will remain as host for as long as RTE will have him. Tonight's Late Late special will feature a bumper line-up including Jessie Buckley, Christy Dignam, Rosanna Davison and Dermot Kennedy.Ryan says the show will have a "big party atmosphere" and that viewers are in for a treat.
