Ellen DeGeneres brought her nearly two-decade daytime talk show to an end Thursday with a celebrity lovefest and a forceful assertion of her achievement as a gay woman daring to be herself.
When the syndicated show went on the air, she was prevented from saying the word “gay” or even the pronoun “we,” DeGeneres said, since the latter would imply she had a partner. She didn’t specify who imposed the ban. The dancer-choreographer saluted DeGeneres as someone who inspires others because she has “the courage to step out and be your authentic self.”
DeGeneres’ daytime reign hit a serious bump in 2020, when the show was alleged to be a toxic workplace and three producers exited amid the claims. On the air that fall, DeGeneres apologized for “things that shouldn’t have happened,” but defended herself as being the same genuine person – if an imperfect one – on– and off-camera.
More compassionate? Didn't she verbally abuse her staff?
Ahh how nice. I am sure she is compassionate about those brutalized children as she injects her adrenachtome.
The bully has always preached kindness while maintaining systemic bullying of her show staff all along. 'Do what I say, not what I do.'
Sounds fantastic until you remember she was the reigning monarchy in her own toxic workplace. The sentiment without sincerity or admission of culpability is just words that insult intelligence and add to injury.
Imagine a lefty calling for people to be more compassionate when the left have torn this country ( US )apart. on purpose to force everyone to green , and CRT indoctrination. The seem completely unaware how they have turned people against each other .Open borders,
The irony
She had her time in the spot light. I hope she enjoys life to the fullest now.
I preferred when she was funny as opposed to ironic.
