As Mount Gambier's Mandy Suckling bid farewell at the airport, she didn't know if it would be the last time she saw him in one piece. But not just any cake, he's an entrant in the International Cake Show Australia in Brisbane.Mandy Suckling's creation is facing off against hundreds of Australian and international entrants.
"So this year, we went for it! We booked our flights … and then we had to work out how to actually get him through the plane trips in one piece!"Air travel for cakes is whisk-y business at the best of times, but when there's dough on the line, Mrs Suckling rose to the occasion. The cake was mounted on a 4-inch-high base, covered in bubble wrap and then loaded into a specially made wooden box plastered with "fragile" stickers ready for the long flights."It was quite a relief when we opened the box and he was still in one piece!"
Congratulations it looks fantastic must have taken a lot oftime and effort.
