The Ukrainian government remains locked in what it’s described as “difficult” talks with Russia to secure safe passage for 38 badly wounded fighters from the Azovstal steel plant in the city. Azovstal is the last pocket of Ukrainian resistance in the devastated southern port city and its fate has taken on a symbolic value in the broader battle since Russia’s invasion in February. There was some speculation the Ukrainians could run a risk of being disqualified from the song contest as a result of their frontman’s on-stage comments.

One high-profile Kyiv-based journalist said making the statement was the right thing to do, even if it did leave the group at risk of disqualification.

So help rescue azov battalion neonazis and their NATO collaborators?

It wasn’t political. It was human.

Eurovision Clever Germans called them GB 🙄 Can't be UK coz Irish entry from Derry Britain 2nd! Some naive Irish will cry including Marty Whelan Irish media stated no neighbourly voting. Wrong! Some understandable political voting for Ukraine️ Most importantly from the public

Eurovision was launched in the 50s after WW2 to be specifically non-political and has forbidden agendas like this. Suddenly it is ok is it? Why were the rules different for balkan states in the 90s? I genuinely hope Ukraine DO NOT win on the back of inciting warfare (WW3)

StandWithUkraine StopTheWar

A30B Nazis. Bury them alive in Azovstal.

40 billion worth of arms gone over keep war going whatever the cost

Should be banned for making a political statement
