, the actor’s family said: “We are deeply saddened to announce that our beloved Dennis passed away very peacefully in hospital in Spain, on Sunday afternoon, with [his wife] Pam by his side.”

The actor was born in 1948 in Clapham, London, and educated at the Corona Theatre School. He began his screen career as a child in 1960 in the dramaIn 1962 at the age of 14, Waterman took the role of William Brown in the BBC TV series

My love, heart & prayers go out to Denis Waterman's family. My favourite program he was in was Minder, it was brilliant. Denis was the bees knees & always will be. He will be missed by many! RIP Denis. 😔😔❤❤❤❤❤❤
