The original score from Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man is finally getting a vinyl release 20 years after the film’s original debut. Considered one of the most influential superhero films of the modern era, 2002’s Spider-Man saw Tobey Maguire cast as the film’s titular web-slinger alongside Kirsten Dunst’s Mary-Jane Watson and Willem Dafoe’s Norman Osborne/Green Goblin. As of last year, the film still ranks as the 37th highest-grossing film in the U.S.
This release is good news for fans and serious collectors alike, and it also comes at an opportune time considering Raimi and Elfman’s latest collaboration. While the duo would reteam for 2004’s Spider-Man 2, Elfman’s role on 2007’s Spider-Man 3 was instead fulfilled by composer Christopher Young. More recently, however, the pair teamed back up to provide the original score of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
