As a contemporary artist I agree.

This is an example of *art* becoming a sort of happening, where the physical artwork (in this case pretty kitschy-horrible) as such doesn't matter at all and the price paid for the *honor* of owning the shit becomes everything (by proving the payers exclusive status among snobs).
