Resident Xs and Os guru Jones joins The Dubcast this week to discuss and diagnose what he saw from Ohio State's retooled and rejuvenated defense at the Spring Game.

Ohio State's Spring Game is in the books, and there are two things we can say with certainty. One, the offense is going to be every bit as good as it was last year, even with the departure of a pair of first-round wide receivers.

And two, Jim Knowles' defense is going to be much better than last year's beleaguered unit. Much, much better. To describe what we saw last weekend from the revamped Silver Bullets, the Dubcast invited resident schemetologist Kyle Jones, who wrote an excellent Film Study this week on the topic. Jones likes what he saw, and we think you will, too.

We'll also talk a little with Jones about the offensive side of the ball, including any concerns he has about the offensive line and how he feels about the team's three-headed monster at running back., wants to know about our breakfast cereal starting lineup and where we want to travel abroad.Spring practice is over, let's talk about what we saw in the program's annual open scrimmage in The Shoe.

Film Study: Based on What Was Shown in the 2022 Spring Game, Jim Knowles' Buckeye Defense is Anything but 'Basic'The Silver Bullets showed more schematic variety in Saturday's intrasquad scrimmage than they had in the past three seasons, and their new coordinator has plenty more still to come. Sawer just needs to work on getting a lil deeper when he drops. He couldve gotten a pick if he was a lil deeper ( and if the ball was thrown his way still ) he was just a couple yards away from the opportunity I love this kind of stuff. Great insights
