The CSO's latest Agricultural Price Indices also shows that energy and feed prices are up 33.3% and 19.3% respectively in February compared to February last year. Today's CSO figures show that the monthly agricultural output and input price indices were both up by 2.9% from January to February. On an annual basis, the agricultural output prices index is up 19.2% while the input price index is up 28.3%.Milk prices are up 28% in the year, cattle prices up 18% and poultry up 4.4%. Prices for pig meat fell by 7%.

The CSO's agricultural output price indices measure trends in the price of agricultural produce sold by farmers, while the agricultural input price indices measure trends in the prices paid by farmers for purchases of goods and service.
