Elton John has just announced the final dates of his farewell tour, but back in 1976, the singer was just coming into his own, addressing his sexuality for the first time in his iconic Rolling Stone cover, now commemorated in this limited-edition T-shirt.

Elton John’s outlandish style and outspoken persona made him the perfect fit for the counter-cultural vibe ofin the Seventies.

But this 1976 cover, shot by Terry O'Neill, will be remembered for something else: posing for the magazine in his signature specs and kitted out sweater, John addressed his sexuality for the first time in the accompanying interview, launching a new era for one of music’s most legendary superstars.
