Sian Heder's"CODA," a deaf family drama starring Marlee Matlin, Troy Kotsur, Emilia Jones and Daniel Durant, is the first film with a largely deaf cast to win best picture. Along with her Oscars win, Minnelli was nominated for best actress for her role in"The Sterile Cuckoo." Gaga is also a best actress nominee for her role in"A Star Is Born" and won best original song for the movie's breakout hit"Shallow."
She is amazing, sets a good model for present generations.
Loved the Tony Bennett Lady Gaga Radio City concert we saw about 7-8 years ago. Part of what made it so endearing is the genuine affection LG has for the greats who came before her. So seeing them together at the Oscars ( but sad to see Liza in a wheel chair) was terrific.
Lady Gaga…beautiful how she helped the great Liza Minnelli share that moment with patience, poise, and dignity.
I’m no fan of her music, but she’s a sweetheart. Minelli was obviously befuddled, and really didn’t belong in stage. Gaga was kind and supportive. Such an attractive feature.
