Will Smith appears to hit Chris Rock during live Oscars broadcast

Actor Will Smith won his first Academy Award ever after a stunning on-stage meltdown. Smith hit Oscars presenter Chris Rock for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith's shaved head. Jada has openly suffered from a hair loss condition called alopecia. Will's Best Actor award for King William was overshadowed by the shocking assault on Rock. He sobbed as he accepted the award and apologized to the Academy - but notably not to Rock.

Pathetic .

Oscars surely this outdated, tedious, ego massaging, same old same old has had its day. Show us some paint drying, considerably more entertaining.

Didn't watch the borefest this year. Tell me, did any of the political jokes include Joe Biden being slapped down by his own advisors, his geographical gaffes, his son's laptop or his inability to remember people's names? Thought not.
