, Tom Davis, Don Novello, Anne Beatts. I hunted down most of the original writing staff of “Saturday Night Live,” including James Downey and Alan Zweibel, who was really helpful in getting me in touch with everybody else. I was in his apartment, and, when he went in the other room to get his phone books, I took pictures of all of the photos on his wall and all the awards.
We talked once about the connection between the upheaval of your parents’ divorce and the fact that you grew up to become a director/writer/producer rather than a performer. It’s also a way to be supportive of other people, like, Oh, I can help make people’s lives less chaotic. So, if I’m working with Amy Schumer, say, I enjoy giving her an experience as a writer and an actor that’s pleasant, but on some level I’m doing it for myself, because I feel like I’ve had hard times, too, and I like helping peopleWhen I was interviewing the comedians, as a kid, I was interested in the process.
I remember meeting Larry Gelbart near the end of his life, and he was still doing some of his greatest work. He was so funny and engaged and current and edgy. That’s the type of person I pay a lot of attention to. How do you do that? How does Scorsese stay that in tune and sharp after so long? How do you not fade out? Quentin Tarantino always talks about how people only have ten good movies in them—but he’s a young guy! I remember when Sidney Lumet made “,” when he was in his eighties.
He would sign off by saying, “Take care of yourself, and take care of somebody else, too.” That’s a pretty good thing to aim for.
is creativity a learned thing?
interesting topic, but what’s the point anymore?
Man, have I got a six book series (minimum) for you, but you'll have to wait (& pay) to discover how one can endure many lifelong successes with many horrific failures & thereafter survive without becoming a total raving lunatic or committing suicide…when they come out in 2024.
JuddApatow The dude is a genius, and funny.
JuddApatow Glad someone is..
JuddApatow Hope this 1 funny
JuddApatow In Apatow's last movie, he had two Jews committing a sort of lynching of a Black person. I'm not aware of any story like this in America, and he had it take place not far from where there are near daily hate crimes by Black people on Jews.
Humor got Chris Rock’s jowls slapped. 😂
'wether-or'-questions are always wrong. This form of logic diminishes the spectrum of possible answers unnecessarily.
Appreciate this very thoughtful comment .
Não. Pesquise...'dize-nos, quando se sucederáo essas coisa e qual o sinal da tua presença'
Humor is, in my opinion, never gets old until some people have to go to their 'safe rooms. I think you hit on something. 👍✌
It is laugh or cry in the world Judd, laugh or cry? And you make me weep.
YOGI. 🇮🇳MODI🇮🇳 🇮🇳👍
THERE IS ONLY ONE GOLDEN MAN IN TODAYS 🌎🌍 🇮🇳MODI🇮🇳 🇮🇳👍
Lol brodie should go for humor if this is an attempt at thoughtfulness
If these guys cared so much about humor, they wouldn't spew so much hateful bile toward people who disagree with them
it's ok to laugh while having deep discussions. It's not OK to use violence or the threat of violence to prevent deep discussions.
“He could have killed him.” 😱🤦🏻♂️
Hello young scientist ! Please, take time to go and watch my New video on James webb :
When you fix a price to something it becomes a commodity
Yes. In the sense that it pays the mortgages.
Every artist needs to ask the value of their contribution. The more successful you are possibly the more important the question becomes. Good piece of story.
silahkan siksa....
JuddApatow i can think of a way for you to be better.
JuddApatow Not true. A significant portion of both the American & world population are trying, and so far succeeding in becoming much much worse. Ignoring that reality is not smart.
JuddApatow Judd apparently hasn't been keeping tabs on the GOP
