The first flowers to appear recently were crocuses and now there are daffodil and wild onion shoots are coming up green. Buds are starting to show on trees.

Visitors walk this week along a waterway at Lake Katherine Nature Center in Palos Heights, where signs of spring are starting to emerge after a long, cold winter.
