Ukraine’s ambassador to the United States accused the Russian military of committing “genocide," arguing its tactics show “no military objective.”
The Russians have attacked “our kindergartens, schools, [and] residential areas,” she said. “The homes and schools are destroyed, peaceful neighborhoods are turned into rubble, innocent civilians die.” U.S. officials have developed a stronger willingness to accuse them of such crimes as Russia has increased their brutality in recent days, including by President Joe Biden, who referred to Russian President Vladimir Putin as a"war criminal" last week.
