Which is great. But that's over 10 times the number signing the petition to ban unsustainable palm oil. Ultimately legislation is more important than advertising.

Would love to see this written into a great big theatre production or film for TV

It was banned because Malaysia is a massive exporter of Palm oil and guess who we are selling fighter jets to,Malaysia.Blighty i shit you not.

Get real people, who cares wat sort of ad it is or who paid for it. It's not offensive n it's warning us that we r fucking up the planet and everything in it. It's our children n their children that will suffer. The people complaining about this will b dust by the time it happens

So what? We had a petition to leave the EU signed by 17 million and it still got ignored.

This ad is informative, not political. What is 'political' is that the BBC refuses to air it. Thank you for sharing this, janeosanders. I'll never buy anything containing palm oil again, because I do care about the destruction of the rain forests.

Iceland's work on eliminating palm oil use is great, but this whole business is taking the piss. Do we really need issues shoved in our faces at every turn? I'm sure Iceland knew exactly what they were doing. awarenessfatigue 💤

The point is it is a wonderful ad BUT NOT AT XMAS. This is a time of Love peace joy and hope. Not destruction and fear. You can play it every day of the year but not at Xmas

BBCPolitics How is this 'advert' Christmas? Conservation yes but nothing to do with the festive season!!

its powerful , hard hitting and makes the message easy to understand , if there is any intent to save animals then the truth has to be known , or we can just accept a world without orangutans , personally i want future kids to have that pleasure greenpeace ExtinctionRebellion

Ironically it's had more publicity due to the fact it was banned so people take more interest. If it hadn't been banned it would have been just another advert that you've seen a hundred times but have no idea what it's actually advertising.

If it's political I will mute and ignore it like all other ads on my TV

We are all respond for what we have done to nature over the millennial, it’s time we all consumed a little less and give a little more back to nature.

Wonder how many people slagged off Iceland for being full of Kerry Katona like 'Mam's' before this advert hit?

BBCPolitics The academic term for this ban: Bonkers.

It should be shown, people need to know

I See nothing wrong with highlighting an ethical issue. If it makes people more aware of the damage that they are accidently complicit in causing, that's a good thing. 🐒🐒

Where's sabra or Xmas tree? That's a Xmas ad.

It would seem that people in high places have a vested interest in palm oil. Tell the truth and shame the devil.

is absolutely amazing.. where do i sign?

They censored Elvis Presley below the waistline once.. look where that got him 🤔

It should not have been banned but what exactly is the point in this petition? Surely everyone's seen it by now?

Whilst I like the ad, I also like not being bombarded by political adverts on TV. Open the door for this one and how many more political ads will flood through with it? As others have pointed out, it doesn't seem to be hurting their viewing rates by it NOT being on TV.

Why was it banned? I didn’t read the article

It's just an advert that has been banned get over it people

Getting banned is the best bit of PR you could hope for!

Good. Should never have been banned in the first place.

Suspect Greenpeace knew this would happen....good marketing move! Great advert!!

So wait, it actually broke a law, and people want it to happen anyway 'for the feelz'?

Seems like it’s getting more PR by NOT being shown on TV.
