Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, Transport Minister Omar Alghabra and Tourism Minister Randy Boissonnault will be speaking to the latest easing of pandemic travel restrictions at 10:30 a.m. ET., the pre-arrival COVID-19 testing requirement at the border for fully vaccinated travellers will no longer be in place as of April 1.
Passengers may still be subjected to random PCR testing at the airport, and travellers will still have to use the ArriveCAN app to enter their proof of vaccination and other required information. It remains to be seen whether the press conference will include any other updates to border measures.

Why April 1, why not today? Dump the ArriveCAN app that no one asks to see and stop those damn threatening emails to returning Canadian travellers. Govt over reach is out of control.
The fact that these guys are acting like this announcement is something to celebrate & that we have to appreciate it is very disturbing. They are convinced all canadians are stupid.
So someone who had 2 doses in 2020 is considered safe to travel even though it only provides less than 6 months protection but someone unvaxed that recently recovered from it and has natural immunity can't fly lol make it make sense

Now the USA should follow suit by removing their pre-departure test requirement.
They need to lift all remaining controls now. There is no sense in waiting any longer.
There should be no testing. Not anything, anymore. Covid is over.
