Father John Misty Unveils 'Goodbye Mr. Blue' Music Video

. The single reveals Josh Tillman in a state of intimacy: a stripped-down, country-folk tune exuding warmth from fingerpicked guitar riffs and Harry Nilsson-inspired lyrics. Tillman was also inspired by hearty singer-songwriters such as Jim Croce and John Denver.

The accompanying video paints, according to a release, “an elliptical portrait of a family reunion filmed on location in Sofia, Bulgaria.” Directed by Noel Paul, the bittersweet pastel images of family and returning home offer a comforting backdrop for Tillman’s recent single. The story follows a young woman’s journey to her family home as she travels to Sofia.will be released April 8, 2022 via Sub Pop and Bella Union in Europe.
