The Mexican American actor played the"Fix-It Shop" owner for more than 40 years, returning as the original character for Sesame Street's 50th anniversary in 2019.Delgado had reportedly been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a blood cancer, in December 2020. He died in his New York City home surrounded by family.As recently as 2021, the actor had roles in the TV shows Law & Order: SVU and The Bravest Knight as well as the film iGilbert.
