Tasmania’s bid to secure the AFL’s 19th club licence has intensified after the state government released plans for a new $750 million, state-of-the-art stadium with a retractable roof in Hobart.with the 18 club presidents to vote soon on whether a new club should be admitted

Funding will come from all levels of government and the private sector, with hope the stadium will be ready by 2027. The stadium, which will redefine the capital city, is set to have seating capacity of about 27,000.
