'I most certainly don't want that' - Joe Rogan has said he's 'very sorry' that Neil Young and Joni Mitchell felt like they had to remove their music from Spotify over his podcast and its controversial COVID-19 content.

Spotify's CEO and Joe Rogan have responded to the growing controversy around the latter's podcast and COVID-19 vaccine misinformation.

There was particular criticism of an episode featuring Dr Robert Malone - a former vaccine scientist who has since made a series of widely discredited and false claims about COVID-19 vaccines. He observed:"For instance, eight months ago if you said 'if you get vaccinated you can still catch COVID and you can still get COVID'... they would ban you from certain platforms. Now that's accepted as fact."

He also suggested he could have"more experts with differing opinions" right after controversial guests. Spotify has now published its"long-standing platform rules" that its creators have to abide by, including around COVID-19 content.

Instead of a disclaimer, how about a COVID (and science) misinfo policy and just strike out blogs that violate it?

Sensible.

Joni Mitchell joins Neil Young in boycotting Spotify over Covid 'lies'“Irresponsible people are spreading lies that are costing people their lives,” the singer said. For Gawds sake when are these artists going to realise Spotify doesn't care what they do with their music. Spotify are getting loads of publicity by promoting Rogan. He enjoys being controversial & the more ppl he can upset the better it is for Spotify & himself. Elder abuse I reckon. There are too many short sighted eegits out there whom choose to deny scientific fact & would prefer to run the risk of death .. however this seems disproportionate .. you don’t have to agree with everyone .. alternative views are healthy
