According to RTÉ, the programme will feature exclusive interviews and a mix of Irish music - including indie and alternative music - from Monday to Thursday."Some personal news to share, today was my last day presenting Drive Time on RTÉ 2FM," Greene said in a statement."Radio became a lifeline for us all over the last two years.
"I joined 2FM in 2007 as a specialist music DJ and I have been given the opportunity to return to my first love and passion, which has always been music."The Electric Disco will continue as normal every Saturday and I’m really excited to be given this new and exciting opportunity to showcase many different genres of music that I love."Jenny Greene's official replacement on Drive Time will be announced in the coming weeks, with Laura Fox to cover the slot in the meantime.
Meanwhile, Fox will also become the new voice of Saturday and Sunday mornings on 2FM from 9am with a new show titledOn Saturdays, listeners will have the chance to win big with competitions as Fox chats with some of Ireland's biggest names in"music, fashion, beauty and beyond". Then on Sundays, listeners can enjoy The Sunday Service when Aifric O'Connell will update Fox and the nation on all the best celebrity stories of the week gone by."Stations like 2FM must continue to evolve with audience needs," Head of 2FM and Radio Strategy Dan Healy said.
"We see an enormous opportunity for the station as more audiences listen to audio outside what was traditionally regarded as peak time radio."
