has a message for singer and actress Bette Midler, who called West Virginians “poor, illiterate and strung out” in a tweet.
“Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there: Kiss her heinie," Justice said, grinning as people applauded and some gave him a standing ovation.West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice holds up his dog Babydog's rear end as a message to people who've doubted the state. “Absolutely too many people doubted us," he said. "They never believed in West Virginia. ... They told every bad joke in the world about us.”
Not everyone was amused. In a tweet, West Virginia Democratic Del. Shawn Fluharty called the move “embarrassing and beneath the office.”
The people of WV deserve our respect/support. Their politicians, who failed to lift them out of poverty, protect their health (black lung) and environment, do not. Bette Midler, on this occasion, wasn't funny. Democrat initiatives on infrastructure/voting rights CAN help WV.
How embarrassing that this made news in Australia 🤦🏻♀️
Turns out that Governor Jim Justice has just proved Bette Midler’s point !
Kind of proved her point?
Typical Republican response when they can't really think of a response . .
Republicans just ooze class
This is real political activity
