Author:Musiliu Smith, the chairman of the Police Service Commission , has asked indigenes of the south-west region to be more interested in joining the Nigeria Police Force .The deadline for application was, however, extended till January 22 in order to allow more persons from the southern region apply.

Speaking on Wednesday in Ibadan, the Oyo capital, at a one-day sensitisation programme on police recruitment, Smith said there will be a problem for the south-west if people from the zone don’t show more interest in applying for police jobs. “That is why we are going round to appeal to stakeholders. Don’t let us create problems for future generations and Nigeria as a whole.”
