A man who’s been arrested and charged with multiple felonies and then consistently released had only been out of jail for week before causing a standoff at a Target store at Westwood Village in West Seattle.

A police report shows the man called 911 and talked about his past crimes and his current need for mental health. He also said he would be taking hostages because he was desperate for help.“Whether you charge him with a crime, whether you don’t — but get the person, so it doesn’t happen again. But to repeatedly let these people out is a failure of our system,” said Fuda.

A spokesman for the King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office said the office has consistently filed charges against the man, but judges have consistently released him.

Just an FYI, its extremely difficult to get mental health therapy right now. I've been actively trying since the end of August and STILL don't have a therapy appointment. Two different facilities gave me false appointments and then stated that they had no openings or therapists.

Reminds me of Washington State voter habits. Same people voting the same people and political party into office thus producing the same results and worse. Things will not change til voters change their choices. - The definition of insanity.
