IF I was to go and see a blockbuster it would be on personal recommendation. Otherwise I confess I do read The Guardian reviews first.

Critics have never ever liked anything Queen have ever done. So no, it's not the year of the critic proof film. It's the determination of a critic proof band.
The critics wrote a bunch of pretentious tripe complaining that it wasn't gritty enough and that it brushed over his tragedy. Basically, the critics missed the entire point of the film. It is a brilliant celebration of his life!
As long as people think it entertaining, exciting and watchable, they don't care about the details.

Has there ever been strong correlation between critics' opinions and box office success? I'm not saying critics have no influence at all but it's certainly not the first time a movie that was panned by the critics has become a hit, and vice-versa.
