Love Island star Matthew MacNabb revealed he has tested positive for the virus and won't be featured in the opening show on Sunday night.
An RTE spokesperson told the Irish Daily Star: "Matthew is now self-isolating following the latest government guidelines. While Matthew will not be taking part in Dancing with the Stars this weekend, protocols mean that all being well he will perform on show two." BBC's Strictly Come Dancing was also affected by the pandemic and implemented a rule whereby if a contestant tests positive they could get a by for one week. McFly singer Tom Fletcher and comedian Judi Love both missed a week of the competition after being struck down by the virus last autumn.
Matthew rose to fame on last year's series of Love Island. He entered the show during Casa Amor and coupled up with Kaz Kamwi, whose heart was actually with Tyler Cruickshank - and went viral when he dumped her by simply telling her: "We're done."
