If anything, farmers and ranchers should be getting paid MORE for what they produce. What needs to happen is getting everybody else's grubby hands off of the money that the farmers deserve, and get commodities like food and gas out of the futures markets. Like NOW.

There are so many middle men involved this. The ranchers are the lowest on the pole. Then you have the processing plants, the distributors, and the stores. Each step the price gets gouged. You can buy a half a cow for a good price if you can store it cut out some of that
