Vicky Phelan has returned to her native home town of Mooncoin, Co Kilkenny, for a very special event.
The specially commissioned painting was delayed somewhat by the pandemic, but the spectacular piece by artist Vincent Devine was finally revealed over the weekend. The painting was purchased for a whopping €58,000, with the proceeds being donated to Heroes Aid nonprofit organisation, an Irish charity supporting frontline healthcare workers during #Covid19.
"Today was a VERY VERY special day for me, for Davy, for Vincent and for my family to be able to share this amazing painting with the people of Mooncoin, the place where I grew up, the place I still call home, the place where my painting now calls home," she said."Unfortunately, due to bloody Covid, it was not possible for people to mingle and have a cuppa and enjoy the painting.
