A company linked to a petrol station and shop owned by Kerry TD Michael Healy-Rae and his wife Eileen turned a profit of more than €70,000 while it availed of State coronavirus supports totalling €122,300.
The company has been listed by Revenue as a recipient of the Employment Wage Subsidy Scheme at various different times over 2020 and 2021.

There are clawback mechanisms for unwarranted claims but looking at the numbers above the Healy- Rae company would have been loss making without the subsidy. Loss making companies get closed down. There have been some much more serious cases of subsidies received and divided paid
