Gallo Records is celebrating its 95th birthday by putting a new spin on some South African classics.which sees treasured African songs from Gallo's catalogue reimagined for a new audience.
The EP is part of the label's new initiative, Gallo Remixed. It features Sun El Musician, Da Capo, Muzi, Mpho Sebina and Nobuhle, who worked alongside"After Black Coffee acquired a stake in Gallo Record Company, the longest-running independent recording label and music publisher in Africa, that also manages the largest catalogue of African music in the world, his first order of business was to go about shining a spotlight on that catalogue," a press statement reads.
Not too after, the Gallo Remixed initiative was birthed --"an initiative that has allowed Africa's future music stars to pull classic songs from Gallo Record Company's rich archives and remix them, allowing for fresh musical takes on treasured fan favourites."and Winston"Mankunku" Ngozi's 1968 classic
